Lead us to Leeds

One Saturday last month in May, we had nothing planned and the weather looked promising so we decided to trade the London city life for a day in the English countryside.  We hopped on a train out of central London and about an hour later, we arrived at Leeds Castle in southeast England.

Leeds Castle itself wasn't really that big compared to some castles and we didn't actually make it inside to see what it was all about, but the grounds around the castle were fantastic!   Lush trees, flowers in bloom, various birds and wildlife to spot, along with meandering streams and little ponds made it the perfect escape for a few hours.

These are these are the grins I get these days when I ask the girls to smile

The grounds also included a big playground area for little kids which the girls needed no prodding for.  Ashton was all about the swings, as usual, and Olivia loved the little zipline they had.

We will certainly be making return trips back to Leeds in the future and if you live in London and need a easy place to spend the day with kids, I would definitely recommend you add Leeds to your itinerary.
