Summer holiday, Part I

Hip, hip hooray for summer holiday!  That is the motto we have been living by since the girls finished up their school year in early July.  With a nine week break looming ahead of us, the girls helped me craft a summer to-do list and thanks to some pretty decent weather, we have been busy bees knocking things off the list.  Here are the highlights from our first three weeks of the break:

Playgrounds
I feel like by the end of this summer, we will have hit every playground in Northwest London.  We have been visiting our favorites while finding a couple new ones.

London Zoo
The zoo is only 1.5 miles from our house and since we have a membership there, we have been making weekly trips.  The membership has been awesome because it gives of the freedom to see as much or as little of the zoo as we want.  Our visits usually entail seeing a few of the animal exhibits before heading to the playground.

With Olivia's best friend from school Nea who met up with us on one of our visits.

And so Quinn doesn't feel left out, he's an obligatory photo of him at the zoo too.

Kew Gardens
Kew is a huge green space, I guess you could call it a park, in west London.  We usually make a couple trips a year there but our visit in July was our first one of the year.  We also knocked off another action item on our list, take a nature walk.  It was the perfect place to do that with plenty of nature to explore.

Down by the River Thames

Once again, here is another photo of me and Quinn just to prove we were indeed there.  He may not  make it into the bulk of the photos these days, but I make it up to him in kisses.

Eat ice cream
So this one wasn't on our list. Why it wasn't, I do not know.  This should have been at the top! With Geoff out of town one evening, we took a walk up to Hampstead for an after dinner treat.

Regents Park
Regents Park also wasn't on the list, but we did take a visit to a playground there and followed it up with feeding the ducks at the pond.

Take babies for a walk
We had three mummies and three babies in three buggies.  We were quite the sight!
