At the end of March, the girls started their four week break from school. We filled the days with various activities, day camp, playdates and of course, travel! We decided a beach holiday was in order sand determined that Mallorca, one of the Spanish Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, was our destination of choice.
With our arrival on the island in early April, we were a bit early in the season and the weather wasn't exactly ideal during our time there. We had days cool temps, rain, high winds but also had periods of pleasant temperatures (but definitely not hot) and sun.
On a cooler day that was not optimal for swimming, at least not for Geoff and myself, we hopped on a trolley car and took a fun ride to the small town of Soller where we spent the morning exploring. The girls loved riding the trolley and views along the way were lush and filled with orange and lemon trees.
The girls would have been 100% content on our trip if it involved swimming. Everyday. All day long. Never mind the days that it was cool, raining or super windy. They wanted to be swimming. Fortunately, there were a few days of sun and warmer temperatures. And as long as Geoff and I stayed submerged in the water up to our heads, it was warm enough for us.
On our last day there, we spent the days exploring the north side of the island. The rugged coastline was spectacular and the water so blue. Fortunately, it was our warmest and sunniest day there which made the beach we stopped at more enjoyable. Although the sea water was frigid!
So long, Mallorca! Thanks for a fun time!
