On September 7, we celebrated Olivia joining our family three years ago. Geoff and I both can't believe how quickly 3 years has gone by. And as Geoff so kindly reminded me, that's 1/6 of the way to 18 when she leaves the house. Sad. :( What a sweet little girl she is growing into. She still has nonstop energy and loves all things that involve running, climbing and jumping. She is sensitive to others and gets very concerned when someone in our family doesn't feel well or she sees another child in distress. Olivia is independent and confident. She easily walks into new environments without looking back at Mommy and Daddy. She can appear aloof or shy when around those she doesn't know well, but she quickly warms up. She is not overly emotional or affectionate with others, including grandparents and aunts & uncles, and instead saves all her hugs and kisses for her sister and Mommy and Daddy.
We had a birthday party on the day of her actual birthday to celebrate with all the new friends we've made in the year we've been in London. We had a rainbow themed party as Olivia loves all things rainbows. The party was a success and much fun for all.
Deep in concentration
The finished product
Cake and candles time. When we started singing to her and she realized she was at the center of everyone's attention, she put her head on the table until the singing was over. Ha!
Making an attempt to blow out the candles
A little assistance from Daddy was required
I found a local lady who runs her cake business out of her home to make Olivia's birthday cake. I had something in mind for the cake and it turned out exactly how I wanted it to and tasted delicious too! We'll definitely be using this lady again for Ashton's birthday party.
Rainbow cake inside!
Getting some help from her friend Grace opening presents
Mastering the scooter from Grandma and Paw-Paw
Showing off her birthday dance moves to me. She loves to dance!
