American Flags
I guess we're doing a good job of raising a patriotic kid or something because she loves the America flag. Whenever we're out and about and she sees one, she points and gets excited.
HEB Buddy Bucks
We do our grocery shopping at HEB. If Olivia is well behaved while shopping, then at checkout, we can ask the cashier for "Buddy Bucks". The bucks let you spin a big wheel thing in hopes of winning big points to be accumulated for prizes. Depending on where the wheel lands, stickers spit out of the machine with the amount of points you won. Olivia could care less about getting any prizes but loves spinning the wheel, pushing the button to make the wheel stop and getting the stickers.
Church Fountain - A.K.A. "The potato fountain"
Near where we typically park at church is a fountain with water coming out of rocks (and the rocks happen to look like potatoes). Olivia loves to spot it when we arrive or leave church each week.Olivia has become quite the little water baby this summer. Quite the contrast from the start of the summer when we took our family trip to Mexico and she would hardly get in the swimming pools there. Olivia has a neighborhood friend whose family belongs to a local country club that has some really nice swimming pools. About once a week this summer, the nannies have been taking the girls to the pool so Olivia has really gotten comfortable with the water and LOVES it now. She and I have made several trips to a waterpark of sorts for small children and we've had tons of fun there playing in the water. The girl has no fear anymore, that's for sure.
Books
We love to read books with Olivia and she loves to have books read to her. Actually, I don't think she really likes the reading part that much given how quickly she turns the pages when we're looking at books. :) Nevertheless, this Richard Scary book is her favorite. We have looked at it so much that the pages started falling out. I tried taping it back together, but that we short lived and soon it was falling apart again. It has been temporarily retired until it gets operated on with some more serious tape.
Blanket
Over the last several months, Olivia has grown attached to her blanket. Thankfully, she's not to the point where she can't go to bed if she doesn't have it, but it's definitely a point of comfort for her.
Shoes
This one might proved to be expensive done the road! Olivia loves to go to my closet and try on my shoes. The bigger the heel, the better! It provides good laughs to watch her try to walk around in the shoes. It's specially sweet when she climbs into my work shoes, puts my purse strap over her shoulder and waves bye as she walks towards the stairs. By the way, the picture below is NOT of her imitating me going to work! :)
