Geoff and I were fortunate to be able to take off two and a half weeks from work around the holidays. The first half of our vacation was very busy spent getting ready for Christmas and spending time with family up in Kentucky. But the second half was spent in Houston, relaxing and enjoying time with our little family of three. I knew work was about to get crazy busy and we wouldn't have extra time for a few months to do much in the way of fun activities around town, so we made an effort during our vacation time to take advantage of the time we did have together. One day, that included going to the Houston Zoo. Geoff and I had never been before and we figured Olivia would enjoy it.
Olivia was more into all the animals than she was the last time we went to a zoo back on our summer trip to Denver when she was only 9 months old. We enjoyed seeing the wonder in her face, along with a little apprehension, as she took in the various animals.
Olivia's favorite part was by far the petting zoo area where she was able to get up close and personal with the animals, namely the little goats. She thought it was the funniest thing to go up and touch them. She couldn't get enough...so much so that she had to hug them! So sweet!
