Q is for Quinn

Oh my goodness.  I blinked and six months later happened.

This little man is six months old now.  What a joy he has been to us.  It's hard to imagine our lives before he arrived.  He is just the sweetest, most chilled out guy.  He is adored by his big sisters and smothered in kisses by his mommy all day long.

Here are some of his current developmental milestones:

* He started sleeping through the night around Christmas when he was only two months old and it was FABULOUS.  However, around 4 months his sleep regressed and he started waking up once a night again.  Lately, he's been waking up between 5:00-6:00 am.  Sometimes I can get him back to sleep after I feed him.  Other times I can't and well, that's when the day begins.

* I'm about to start him on solids this weekend.  Tasty rice cereal coming up!

* He has recently discovered his hands and he is quite mesmerized by them.  He loves to stare at them while he turns his hands around.

* We have no teeth yet to report, but I think we will be seeing one before too long.  He's been super drooly and has been gnawing on his hands for the last 4-6 weeks, but the last few days he's had a few fussy moments which he usually doesn't have. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with a tooth about to cut.

* Despite all the serious faces in the photos here, he has the best smile and he loves to flash it to us.  He is also super ticklish around his neck and feet.  Anytime I get him giggling, the girls race over to us and get so excited about his laugh.

With the girls in school full time, I've enjoyed having all the extra one-on-one time with him during the day.  We run errands together, go to the gym (he goes to the creche/nursery there), attend the occasional baby class and meet up with friends for tea.  He keeps me company at home while I work and do other miscellaneous things around the house.  Most of all, I love having the quiet moments when I feed him, rock him and hold him while he sleeps.  When Ashton was a baby and I had Olivia home with me all day long, those peaceful moments were few and far between.  So I'm soaking them in with Quinn.
