Welcome to my blog! I've been thinking about doing this for awhile, but until now, I haven't actually taken the time to sit down and do it. Now that I'm on maternity leave from work and we are on the eve of our family increasing from two to three, I figured there wasn't a better time to get started. So here is how we kicked off 2010:
January 1, 2010 - Happy New Year to us!
In many ways, the last nine months have flown by and been a time of wonder, anticipation and anxiousness and I can't believe she's almost here. But in other ways, the last nine months have gone by very slow and felt like her arrival would never get here.
As we prepare for the arrival of our daughter in the very near future, these verses from Psalm 139 have taken on new significance to me over the last several months:
Psalm 139:13-18
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.
Wow. It is overwhelming to think that the Creator of the world knew my daughter and has had thoughts of her since the beginning of time. He knows the day she will make her entrance into the world, the day she will leave and all the moments in between.
For now, we are just looking forward to her making her grand entrance, figuring out how to be parents and sharing our journey along the way.
